Aquatic Therapy

Aquatic therapy is a fun and effective form of therapy that can benefit a wide range of patients. The water provides resistance for strength building while minimizing the joint stress that would typically be experienced with weight-bearing exercise. During an aquatic therapy session, the patient will be guided through a series of aquatic exercises tailored to their specific needs. All exercises are performed in shallow water and the patient does not need to be able to swim to participate! Aquatic therapy is a group session, usually of no more than five patients at a time so that the therapist can assist and guide each patient thoroughly.

Patients who are interested in aquatic therapy must come in to the clinic for an initial evaluation, and can begin aquatic therapy on their second visit.
